District AI Policy Through the AI Readiness Lens

Join district and school leaders from across the region for a working session on developing thoughtful, actionable AI policy. The session is grounded in aiEDU's AI Readiness Framework, a tool designed to meet districts wherever they are — whether you're just starting the conversation about AI in your schools or refining a policy you've already put in place. Using the Framework, participants will be able to locate their district's current stage of readiness and identify concrete next steps forward, regardless of where they're starting from.

We'll open with a keynote from California Assemblymember Marc Berman, offering a broad-strokes look at the conversations shaping AI policy at the state level. From there, we'll hear directly from current district partners about their own AI policy journeys — the decisions they've made, the challenges they've navigated, and the lessons learned along the way.
